Testimonials

At Behavioral Medicine P.C. we have had the opportunity to play a part in the success stories of our patients' lives. Here are a few testimonies from our patients.

“Successful treatment relies on an open, trusting relationship with a competent, genuine, caring therapist.  Cynthia fulfills all these requirements, helping me meet and even benefit from challenges.  I’ve learned to accept my emotions as valid and to set boundaries in my relationships.  My stress levels have fallen proportionately to my feelings of empowerment.  I no longer feel like a leaf in a stream.”  - Jan

"I left my first appointment with Cynthia feeling very hopeful that I would find the help I need… and I did. Cynthia is a talented therapist, possessing the ability to help sift through the garbage and identify core issues. This helped me learn a lot about myself, how to identify the onset of depression, as well as learning techniques to redirect myself when undesirable feelings or behaviors began to surface. I am very grateful to Cynthia Kindgren for the positive changes she brought to my life as a talented and dedicated therapist." –Verna

“Cynthia was very supportive, sensitive, knowledgeable, and caring.  Her own life experiences put her in a unique position to understand and give advice.  Cynthia has taught me how to compartmentalize my stressors.  This has made all the difference in getting through each day.  I can’t believe the difference it makes.  I would gladly refer a friend to Cynthia for counseling.”

“While in the recovery process of a Traumatic Brain Injury I sustained in a car accident, I found refuge and an understanding while I was in the care of Cynthia Kindgren.  All of my experiences at Behavioral Medicine P.C. were absolutely rewarding and without a doubt helpful!  Not only was I able to understand my abilities and disabilities, but I was able to learn how to cope with them.  Through techniques such as breathing, relaxation and positive thinking, Cynthia taught me how to control my emotions and manage my thoughts in a positive way as well.  As a result of my treatment, I am now successfully able to control my emotions, and learn how to deal with the sometimes stressful, everyday things that life throws at us.  Not only can I manage my stress as it comes along, but I was also taught ways to prevent stress as well.  I greatly appreciate all of the time and effort that Cynthia put forth in giving me a better sense of self.  I thank Cynthia and staff from the bottom of my heart for providing me with excellent care and giving me the chance to be able to function to the best of my abilities throughout the duration of my life."  - Justine

“Christy was very helpful.  She listened well and taught me how to focus on present life more and to give past issues time to understand and mend.  Thanks to Christy I feel my life is important and it comes first.  She taught me not to jump to conclusions, step back and take it slowly.  Now I am able to enjoy my friends.  I would refer a friend to Behavioral Medicine, give them a phone number and encourage them to give it a chance, for my experience was good.”

“Dear Cynthia, I want to thank you for all you have done for me. Your help after my husband died in May has made the difference between me totally falling apart and finding a new life. Your straightforward way of dealing with life’s problems has taught me a great deal. I now know that even though a phase of my life has ended, a new one is waiting to start. As I wade through the stages of grief, I know that you will be there to help me deal with all these changes. I know that I could not do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have been an angel of mercy from God. Forever thankful.” – Elaine

"I have lived with chronic pain and depression for over five years. There weren't enough pills in the world to help me. My best friend is a therapist. She suggested I find a therapist that specialized in the treatment of chronic pain and depression. This is what brought me to Cynthia Kindgren's door step. During my first session after about 15 minutes I felt tears falling down my cheeks. I was crying and I told her so because I got more out of these last 15 minutes than I got in the last 4 years of therapy. It just got better after that."-Pattie

“I came to see Cynthia after two major incidents in my life. I’ve learned different breathing and relaxation techniques to help me “de-stress”.  I have also been able to accept the changes in my life in a positive way and to process issues in my life that I grieve.  Cynthia is a very compassionate person.  I thank you for all that you have taught me, you certainly are a blessing.” -Linda

“After being hit by a drunk driver, I returned to Behavioral Medicine for counseling because of the great care I had received previously. Although the counselor that I had

seen in the past was no longer there, the familiar environment and caring staff made it

easy to begin treatment immediately without a “getting to know you” period. Flexible scheduling, working with my insurance and reasonable payment plans also made it easy for me to return to Behavioral Medicine P.C. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of counseling services.”- Julie

“I struggle with Multiple Sclerosis. Keeping my brain working (but not over working it) is something I struggle with every day. Cynthia began helping me in April of 2007. Cynthia is a well-rounded, intelligent, Christian woman. I would recommend anyone with trouble focusing, remembering or looking for someone to help him or her get the best out of their cognitive abilities to make an appointment with her. I am sure even the healthiest adults could use help in these areas.”- Stacy

upset, I try to keep peace in my house by watching my behavior and understanding my husband better.  I would refer a friend here for counseling, and I would tell them Cynthia has the knowledge to help you recover your thinking abilities and get closer to a “normal” life.” – Laura

“Cynthia helped me understand myself better.  She helped me deal with a past emotional trauma with EMDR.  I am now a stronger person and have a better opinion of myself. My treatment was invaluable in improving my relationship with my daughters.  It has improved my relationship with neighbors, family, friends, and others.  And I feel less resentful. I would definitely refer a friend to Cynthia for counseling.  I would tell them not to be afraid of it and to not put it off like I did.  Cynthia is a kind and caring therapist.  She really listens and she very quickly understood me.  Before therapy I thought the therapist mostly listened.  I thought I would be lucky to come away with a few good ideas.  I was pleasantly surprised when Cynthia gave my many practical strategies to deal with my problems, and they worked!  She also identified some additional problems and helped me with those too.  I always felt good when I left a session.  My life is not perfect but I am happier than I was before therapy.  Therapy with Cynthia exceeded my expectations, and I will always be thankful for her.” – JoAnn

“Cynthia has made a huge positive impact in my life. She has given me the tools to take better care of myself and has helped me cope with stress.  I have found that the Container Method is a life saver! The front desk staff is always helpful and friendly. I would encourage others to contact her office and not put it off if they are in need of counseling….it is life changing.” -Deb
