Knowledge of how to contact patient regarding amount for them to bring based upon insurance

• After verifying patient’s insurance, look over results to assess what you will be communicating to the patient. You need to let them know if they have a deductible, how much is left on that deductible, and whether or not there is a co-pay.

• If there is NO deductible, the patient’s responsibility is dependent on the percent their insurance company is willing to cover.

• If there is NO deductible and a co-pay, the patient’s responsibility is the amount of the co-pay.

• If the patient has a deductible that has NOT been met yet, their responsibility will be to cover the full allowable amount until their full deductible is met.
